A Total Eclipse at Shadowglen

A Stellar Celebration

On April 8, 2024 our community came together to witness a once-in-a-lifetime event - the total solar eclipse. With over 200 people in attendance, the excitement was bubbling both inside and outside of the clubhouse.

Inside, we embraced the celestial theme with treats that were out of this world, including moon pies, Eclipse gum, Milky Way candy bars, Starburst, and Sunkist soda among other tasty treats. The star of the show was our eclipse donut hole display, featuring chocolate donut holes surrounded by glazed ones, creating a delicious representation of the eclipse. Our mini marquee announced "showtime at 1:37," the moment of totality, adding to the anticipation.

Our black and gold balloon-framed backdrop provided the perfect setting for commemorative photos, capturing the joy and wonder of the day. The creative spirit was alive as some of our residents joined in the fun, helping to create a vibrant wall of sunshine with colorful solar eclipse crafts that now adorn our office walls.

The atmosphere was further enhanced by a themed playlist with hits like "Total Eclipse of the Heart," "Walking on Sunshine," and "Ring of Fire," setting the perfect soundtrack for the celestial spectacle.

The feedback from our residents was overwhelmingly positive, with comments like "this is such a great idea," "I love these snacks," "everything is so cute and put together," and "this was a lot of fun." Their appreciation and enjoyment made all the effort worthwhile.
